I wanted to start writing a blog to help bridge the communication between artists and the music industry. Things have changed so much over the years, but, the one thing still seems to hold true…there are still incredible artists out there who are fighting for their music to be heard. By fans and industry alike.
Through this blog, I’d like to try and help make that happen. I’ll also be doing interviews along the way. The list of who I’d like to chat with has grown to 3 pages. Good problem to have.
Who am I? Nobody special, but, I’ve picked up a few things along the way and I think they may help.
I’ve worked with a lot of talented music industry folks over the years on some amazing events. From the smaller start up comedy shows to award shows and festivals (Junos, Canadian Music Week, Breakfast Television (Calgary), and WCMA), and many small and larger live shows along the way. With local, up and coming Indie acts, as well as international touring artists. I’ve been very fortunate.
I’ve worked a lot of jobs associated with live shows; promoter, booker, stage manager, talent liaison/wrangler, runner, tour assistant, merch, door person, security, etc.
And, no, in case you’ve already noticed…I’m not the best writer in the world. As I’ve been told, I write in “conversational” style. Sure. I’ll work with that. As long as I don’t fk it up too much and people can understand what I’m saying…it works for me. Hopefully it works for you, too.
Thanks for taking the time to read my first blog. I’m looking forward to writing more.
Until next time….
